He, in My Eyes - An Admirer

In hundreds of newsrooms across our country there are men and women who are creating journalism of excellence day after day, year after year, throughout their careers. But the sports media in India, especially in West Bengal, that till recently remained somewhat laclusture, has suddenly become alive, vibrant and colourful with the energy, commitment, professionalism and love, that he has imbibed into it.

Gautam Bhattacharya, the great Sports Journalist, presently serving The AnandaBazar Patrika, as its Sports Editor can be described as the first man to bring altogether a very different dimension in Sports Journalism. A flavour that we were missing in it for years.

Along with Print media, the electronic media now a day has started getting his hallmark journalistic imprint. And his presentation has started entering into a conflictzone with his skill of writing. Wandering, which one to be kept ahead!

And on every 10th of April, I do make a little prayer "God, keep him happy, prosperous, and energetic and creative so that we can get a lot more from him."

How could you not want to do anything that he asks for? How could he not inspire you? How could you not want to be like him? He is the ultimate professional, ultimate team leader, and the ultimate journalist.

Writing a tribute is a wonderful way of expressing our love and appreciation and respect to those we value. Writing a very personal expression of thankfulness using specific traits and recollections although is really not ( as I have not faced him personally as yet) possible for me but still I am doing this on behalf of all who really have an impact of him on their life and I am doing so from an urge that swells inside me everyday, to show him my admiration and respect.

I write this Tribute to say a big "thank you" for being born during my lifetime

*Congratulation!

Its very true that Gautam Bhattacharya has added a new dimension to the sport journalism in west bengal, few things is really admiriable: the way he touches the pulse of the news and the way he represents it is really good. He keeps good stats and analyzes things in from a different point of view, but i feel ABP also has projected him, initially i used to think him as a very old guy with tons on experience. ABP allows to write more once u reach that experience level but its good that for a change they are giving publicity to young journalists. One thing that i dislike about him is adding sentimental sentences without facts in his articles, they are simply not needed, probably people likes it but i feel many a times its unecessary, without that also his writing will be as good as that.
